Hey, people, thanks for the sweet emails answering the photos and news I've sent.
Everything is fine, I'm enjoying life up North and things are moving! :)

Lots of work these days:
1. Gallowglass's translation - I must end it this week! Please...

2. Translating two evaluation reports' for some consultants - ASAP

3. Updating the water management software user's handbook - before Nov 30th

plus the Kundalini Yoga classes and my Aura Reading practice.

Can't wait for the 'Christmas holidays'. :)

Já nem sei há quantos dias estou em regime de tradução intensiva. Só saio de casa para as aulas de KY.

Aulas e tradução

Esta semana, dou mais três aulinhas de divulgação no Porto e em Famalicão. Todos os detalhes ainda hoje em: SRC Terapias.
A 1ª aula de divulgação em Famalicão correu bastante bem, pelo menos, os alunos disseram que tinham gostado. :-)

Os últimos dias foram passados no Sul, sempre em movimento.
5ª e 6ª aulas de Kundalini Yoga no Lady's em Setúbal - parte do workshop Renovação que fiz o ano passado, em Novembro, com a Siri Datta http://www.siridatta.co.uk/, com os kriyas "Bonito por Dentro e por Fora" e "Libertar o Passado". Alunos antigos e gente nova a aceitar o desafio de mudar um pouco.
Ontem, fiz a Iniciação de Reiki Essencial II no Anjocas http://www.anjocas.com/ . Uff... e ahhhh... hoje estou super-calminha :-) Obrigada aos querídissimos Mestres Elizabete e João.

Back to Famalicão, esta semana vai ser dedicada a algumas tarefas administrativas relacionadas com as aulas de Kundalini Yoga e à tradução do segundo volume da trilogia das Promessas do D. Sigmundus - aviso assim que sair o primeiro volume.

Olá, people!

Depois de uns meses de grande movimento em que a net e os mails ficaram um pouco esquecidos (tudo por boas razões), aqui estou de volta.

Não serei tão assídua como antes mas vou tentar dar notícias uma vez por semana ou assim, conforme se justifique. O tempo não dá para mais e espero que assim continue (significa que tenho trabalho para fazer! ;) ).

Quanto aos mails... uff... acho que já ninguém acredita que eu responda... eu vou lendo e respondendo quando posso.

Vamos ao nosso update:

1. A tradução foi entregue, aprovada e a editora gostou imenso :-) O livro deve sair em Agosto, aviso assim que sair. Adianto apenas que será uma edição Gailivro.
Já estou a (re)ler o segundo volume da trilogia para preparar a tradução.

2. Mudei (novamente) de casa, desta vez para Famalicão. A minha linda casinha em Setúbal está alugada. Tenho um bocadinho de saudades da vista, sim, mas agora oiço os passarinhos de manhã em vez de ouvir o camião do Pingo Doce. :-)

3. Com a mudança para o Norte, tenho que deixar o meu trabalho na OIKOS, claro. Por enquanto, ainda lá vou 2-3 dias por semana mas é complicado andar para baixo e para cima todas as semanas... (eu e esta tendência de andar de mala às costas...)

4. Aulas Kundalini Yoga - as de Lisboa e margem Sul ficaram entregues a uns quantos professores que tenho a certeza estão a dar muito bem conta do recado (vou tendo algum feedback) e ando a fazer contactos para dar aulas cá em cima. Pessoal do Minho, preparem-se que o Kundalini Yoga está a chegar! :-)

5. A viagem ao Peru e à Bolívia correu muito bem, a todos os níveis. Ficou a vontade e alguma pena de não ter conseguido ir ao Cuzco mas também é verdade que certas viagens não têm graça para fazer sozinhos.

Life these days

Not many changes since the last post.

I'm much more relaxed, that's for sure, although still with my hands full of things to do.

Other than the emails, the list of 'to post' is also growing. As other things in this life, hopefully time will help improving the quality. On the Winter nights, I'll imagine a fireplace next to me while I transform notes on bits of paper into blog posts.

Translation - still ongoing and going well (and I'm still enjoying and that's good), I can 'see the light at the end of the tunnel'.

Surgery (gall bladder, for those who don't know about my 'adventure') - my name is on file, which means I'll be called when my turn comes (at least, 700 ppl before me...). Most probably not before 9-10 months. Still, the doctor was pretty cool about it and says I shouldn't worry as I'm young and otherwise healthy. Just be wise and keep the low-fat, no alcohol diet. I say it can only be good to loose a few extra KGs :)

Juni - is back home and getting me into a healthier schedule. Next step will be to start jogging that we can both exercise.

Yoga classes - started a few this week, others only by mid-November. I really missed teaching!

NGO work - I'll start a new job on the 19th (fingers crossed, people!) in Lisbon. Part-time :) Such a perfect Universe...

Leisure - a trip to Douro, lovely, peaceful, yummy, wonderful!, 'Stardust' - ai, ai, to re-watch sometime(s), that's for sure, and 'The Secret' - makes so much sense! and now I'll put into practice consciously!

Short news

Time does fly...
Work seems (is) endless and the last few weeks have been intense. Firing people for example is never a pleasant task... However, little by little, some files seem to be solved or, at least, are on the good track although there's still a lot to be done. Paso a paso, my supervisor says...
First desperate measures at the office - I had to put a sign on my door saying "Closed, except for A or B" (A & B being the top priority files). :-s
Nevertheless, people still knock and knock until I answer a not willing at all "Yes?" and someone shows a apologetic face with a 'I only need a minute' or 'I know you're very busy but...' or 'Sorry, I really need your opinion/feedback/signature'. Signatures are Ok, but everything else never takes a minute... Grrrrr!!!
Desperate measures again - me and my team went to work yesterday. Such a bliss to work with nobody in the office, no telephone ringing... Too bad it can't be like that more often. But the door will be definitely closed for the rest of the week or until we finish the audit.

At home... the translation is still ongoing (I can't even explain it to myself anymore), so I still haven't seen my friends over here nor have been out much. My colleagues went to the Oktoberfest in Taybeh today and I'm here, in front of the computer. Each one has what s/he deserves... :)
I did however go out for dinner yesterday - I really needed a break. Everybody seemed to have plans (normal...) so, after watching the Bourne Ultimatum (my feedback here) with the boss and la mamma, me and the boss went out for dinner at the Lotus & Olive Garden. The vegetarian lasagna was OK, the Corona tasted wonderful (!!) and it was lovely to be outside in the garden (sorry, couldn't find any pics of the garden).
Ah... and la mamma had cooked a delicious fig pie in the afternoon! yummy!... :)

Oh... I almost forgot the usual travel notes:
- Reema is back and so is the good food :) (will have to go back to kitcheree when I'm back home);
- the weather is getting cooler, it's often cloudy in the morning, pretty windy most days, guess the Summer is bidding farewell. So I might go to the Dead Sea next week :) (or else I won't be able to go at all! :-s ).

Olá!

O trabalho está a correr bem, embora ainda tenha uns quantos dossiers urgentes, e o chefe novo já cá está, o que pode ajudar a resolver algumas coisas.

Entretanto, ainda não acabei a tradução... :( Para grandes males, grandes remédios (não sei pq me dá tanto para os provérbios e frases idiomáticas ultimamente...), por isso, vou mesmo estar ausente dos blogs e da net durante tempo indeterminado - que espero seja curto - até chegar ao fim (da tradução, que não da minha sanidade mental).

Assim que puder, respondo aos vossos mails e regressarei via blog com novidades e, espero, com fotos.

Até lá, fiquem bem e "sejam felizes".

Hi!

Work is going well, although I still have a few urgent files to catch up with, and the new boss has arrived, which may help settling a few issues (hopefully).

Meanwhile, I haven't finished the translation yet... :( Desperate times, call for 'desperate' measures... so I'll really have to be absent from the blogs and the net for some time - I hope not much...- until I reach the end (of the translation, not of my mental health).

I'll answer your emails as soon as I can and will be back blogging with some new and, I hope, also some pictures.

New boss 'in town'

I was absolutely 'wasted' yesterday evening. Went to bed before 9.30pm and woke up with the alarm clock at 7am this morning. Hmm... can I stay a bit more? No, you should get up and get back to the translation.

7.05am - the door bell rings. Ok, I got the message, getting up... "Yes? good morning" "Hello, it's S." Ohh.. the Head of Mission was coming today, right. I open the door downstairs. Oh, well, I'll be nice and see if he needs help with the luggage. He did, but I only had to carry a small suitcase, so that's OK. ;)

8.20am - after the 'welcome drink' (tea) and some talk, I'm pretty awake and ready to start working. Let's see if I manage to go and have dinner with this people tonight, before someone puts me into an asylum. ;)

More news on Jerusalem, the mission, etc only next week.

Ontem, fui jantar fora!! :)

(detalhes e menu do jantar no resumo semanal, a publicar amanhã, como habitualmente)

Decidi sair ontem, pela 8ª vez em 5 semanas. Sim, as minhas pausas contam-se realmente pelos dedos das mãos. 2 passeios na Cidade Velha (relato de um deles aqui), 1 jantar no Pasha's (Este), outro no Russian Quarter (Oeste), a despedida da L. e do M. e dois gelados (a 5min de casa).

Isto para responder a alguns comentários 'da reacção' ... :)
Ainda não acabei a tradução, porque tenho mesmo muito trabalho e o corpinho já não aguenta noites sem dormir. Mas estou bem, workaholic, totalmente embriagada com trabalho, mas feliz.
E, sim, levem lá a bicicleta, foi uma loucura aceitar os dois trabalhos ao mesmo tempo. But, then again... that's me! :-)

Dito isto, vou acabar a revisão de um relatório p/ a sede e, depois, dedicar-me à tradução.

I'm at the office, translating - I'm really enjoying this translation! - and suddenly there's a chip-chip sound above the celtic music on the CD player. There's a bird on the trees outside, probably calling his 'people' home. :)

Isto de estar encafuada em casa funciona!!
Sexta e sábado, fiz uma boa média horária (min / página), ontem até superei os meus objectivos! :)

Sem mais, vou voltar ao trabalho.

Current times - III

Pouco tempo para a net, poucos mails e menos posts.

Muito rápido:
- adiei o exame de KY, faço qd voltar de Jerusalém;
- o projecto de KY está (também) em banho-maria, o esqueleto está feito, o resto quando voltar;
- parei as aulinhas de KY na quinta, os professores novos já estão todos 'em funções' e bem!;
- a partida para Madrid está marcada para dia 8 de Julho, daí seguirei para Tel-Aviv / Jerusalém no dia 10 de Julho;
- a Juni está de 'férias' em casa dos meus pais (e eu cheia de saudades!...), quero ver quando eu regressar e ela perceber que acabaram as corridas no jardim ...

Até lá, sou eu e a tradução, a tradução e eu. Vou tentar arranjar um tempinho para as despedidas mas vão ter que ser chás/cafés-expresso...

Ah, volto a disponibilizar livros (emprestados) para quem quiser - Laura Esquivel, Nicholas Sparks, Saramago, Isabel Allende, Kundera, Alberoni, Osho, clássicos ingleses, Tolkien e TP em inglês, livros em francês etc etc, mais de 100 livros que aqui ficam na prateleira enquanto eu estiver fora.

- o projecto final está mais avançado e o estudo também (tenho que me dedicar à anatomia no feriado... :s);
- por favor, não perguntem "E a tradução, como é que vai?" - adorei o livro e estou ansiosa por me dedicar a sério à tradução (é livro para comprarem p/os vossos sobrinhos, filhos de amigos, irmãos mais novos), mas não tenho tido muito 'tempo de qualidade';
- já comecei a preparar o meu hand-over das aulas aos novos profs de KY, que são uns queridos e me vão substituir no Verão;

Current times - I

- teaching the usual KY classes;
- preparing for the final exam of the Kundalini Yoga course (level 1);
- preparing the final project for the course;
- starting the translation of The Hollow People;

Tomorrow evening, I'll be heading to Aveiro, to participate on the Kundalini Yoga festival organised by the Kundalini people from Aveiro (Jardim de Lótus). I'm teaching the 1st class on Sunday, at 6.30 am!!

Not much time for emails or posts until May 30th, I'm afraid.

Dinner at Livramento. Lovely to see Peter & Barbara again and listen to all the stories from 20 years ago (!) when Ricardo and I were Dani & Claudia's age! :)

Sunday
Working on the translation with a break for lunch: grilled sardines Morocann style, with coriander, delicious!
And... bye, bye, Holland... (Van Basten is uglier than I remembered). Time was passing sooo slowly. I don't want to start any discussion on football or about that match. I was happy we passed! Just let them play!

Monday
One translation cancelled, change of plans regarding the presentation of the document. Thanks for the help, anyway, guys... Now, you can understand a little bit of a day's work in an NGO/humanitarian sector. Impredictible... Just be reactive, think and work fast.
Having the afternoon off, I was able to go and see Dani's judo show; all proud of my little brother who did pretty well.

Tuesday
A nice cup of tea with Rosa at Relaxis. I arrive home to find a new translation on my mailbox. Like David says, that's all good, it's work and it's paid, so I don't complain. So long for a quieter week.

Wednesday
I think most of the details of Siri Prakash's visit are settled. Fingers crossed to see if we manage to go and teach that trial class in Lisbon - it'd be great!!
Oh, and I got an invitation to teach yoga for kids at Academia dos Morangos, in Setúbal. If the kids like it and the parents are interested, I might start a class there in September :) :) :)

Thursday
After 2 (3?) months of exchanging e-mails, I finally talked to Siri Prakash on the phone (thank you, Skype). I just hope everything goes well! I'm working on the flyers and will email them to everybody - please come!! You won't regret it!
Yami, it was great to have you online. I had quite a few laughs! :) Do come and visit! And I'll see if I can go to England this year still; I'd visit you in Oxford and, of course, go to Hereford, Cambridge and visit my brother Ric and Zuzi.

Here I am finishing the flyers and working on the translation for Guinea. Or trying to. I'm soo lazy today...
